My Favorite Songs Right Now

It's 7:30pm. I still have an hour and a half left at work and am bored out of my mind. So, let's talk about music. The song I've been listening to the most lately is Hold Me Down by Halsey. The studio version is fantastic, but Halsey live? She's fucking amazing. I hope I get the chance to see her in concert someday.

Next is a throwback from my early high school years. I was really into this guy who liked punk music and I was not punk at all. I didn't like a lot of the stuff he listened to, but he talked about what a great vocalist Hayley Williams was, I gave Paramore a try, and wha-la! Something to talk to the cute guy with the weird nose about. Their second album, Riot!, is awesome and to this day I know the majority of the lyrics by heart. When It Rains is one of my favorite tracks from the album and it's kind of melancholy and that's where I've been emotionally lately, so I thought I'd share.

Fall is also right around the corner and right around this time of year I usually end up putting One Cell In The Sea by A Fine Frenzy on repeat (switching out every once in a while with Sam's Town by The Killers). This is Think of You.

And now, to switch things up, let's check out some K-pop! Girls' Generation released their fifth album Lion Heart a couple of weeks ago and You Think is definitely my new jam.

Lastly, we have Hold On, this nice chill, EDM dance track with a very aesthetically pleasing music video by a duo called AXODUS. The vocals are by Key from K-pop group SHINee. I just want to go on a really long drive on a day with perfect, sunny weather and listen to this song on repeat. Let's make it happen!

Life As We Know It

Another day, another blog.

My initial response to the question, "How should I start this post?" was, "Life has been boring lately..." But to tell you the truth, I don't think it has been. Maybe it's just now starting to get back to normal. And for my life, normal is anything but boring. Normal is change; it is the ebb and flow of the thoughts, actions, and feelings that we all know and love. Now, that could just be because of the way my mood swings work. One minute up, the next minute down; it's frustrating, but it keeps life interesting.

The summer went by in a flash. I'm not in school right now, so summer isn't to me what it is to a lot of people my age. Between trying to find a job, Tokyo in Tulsa, starting my new job, one of my best friends moving to California, groups of friends merging, and meeting new people, I've been busy! Anyway, I wanted to share pictures of some of the things that happened in the last month or so...

Heather, Ari, and me. We watched the Tulsa Drillers get their asses handed to them.
ICE CREAM! feat. Aaron, Casey, Kay, Derek, Adam, myself, and Mark.
We did laser tag with a horror movie theme!
feat. Moe, Jason, big scary monster guy, Saif, Justen,
Kay, me, and Eric.

Karaoke at Elote! feat. me, Kay, and Saifykins.
Because of my crappy work hours I couldn't join the group for Korean food, so
they settled for second best: a drawing of me propped up by soy sauce.
feat. Aaron, Casey, Derek, Adam, and Mark (and Kay taking the pictures)
Ladies night! Manis and pedis, burgers, clubbing, and an overwhelming amount
of cat videos and Ew! feat. Ari, Kay, me, and Casey
On our way to watch the Perseids at the end of 71st street.
Feat. Justen, Kay, Heather, Ari, Rhane, and Keaton.
(Casey and Jen were there but they rode by themselves. Losers.)

Me, Bueno, Casey, and Shai at Bluehole.

I've got a lot more I could add to this post, but let's not use up all our good stuff in one go, okay? Hopefully I'll be able to continue my stealth blogging while I have nothing to do at work. Looking back at these pictures and remembering how much fun we had, it was so worth all the stress, time, and money. This was a fantastic summer. 10/10, would do again.
